planlab.ai is hiring 🥳*! If you think you’re a match for this job then please contact me. If you think you know a great match for the job then please forward them this posting - we are offering a £250 referral bonus if you’re the first to refer the person we end up hiring.*
TL;DR
- We’re planlab.ai, a VC-backed company hiring our first (full-stack) engineer
- We’re building automated AI planning for infrastructure construction projects, because planning is broken. Overruns globally cost over $508bn each year, and this is largely due to planning tech being digital versions of 1950s paper methods.
- In this role, you’d build a user-facing app - frontend, backend and supporting infrastructure. The stack for this role is Next.js, Typescript, Neon plus Vercel. If you are keen to learn then there’s an opportunity to support Rust work, which we use for the optimization engine behind the app.
- We’re based in London and are looking for you to work on-site most days of the week. We are open to sponsoring visa applications for the UK
- Total compensation ranges £90k - £125k. 10-15% of the comp comes as an equity option grant.
About us and our product
- Our mission is to overhaul the way large infrastructure projects are planned ****to reduce their overruns on time and budget. We want to help solve some of the massive challenges we face at a societal level - including climate change and the energy transition.
- Our vision is to create a tool that captures world models about how complex projects work, and then use those models to optimize projects and fix planning.
- Our founding team consists of Felix (CEO), Martin (CPO) and Max (CTO). We’ve all known each other for years and all worked for 5 years in the same company (BCG X) before starting planlab in January of this year.
We’re a young VC-backed company looking to onboard our first team members, so if you’re looking to get in on the ground floor of something you can help make big then this is for you! We’re based in London, but for the right candidate we’re happy to sponsor a UK work visa.
About the job
- In this job you’ll build our very first product. This includes building a user-facing app, helping construct the back-end for it and supporting the infrastructure we need to run it all.
- In this job you’ll be our first engineering hire. We want you to take a big role in shaping the engineering team and our product. Since we’re early stage there’s a lot of space for impact and growth.
